Jott It!

Posted by Pete on November 17th, 2007

Yesterday I wrote a post that went into how great Jott was in combination with Xpenser. Today, I will tell you why Jott is one of those “gotta have it” tools on the web and the best part about this is, that it’s all free!

Jott™ is a revolutionary new service that automatically converts your voice into e-mail and text messages—anytime, anywhere, with any cell phone. Jott™ makes you more productive and efficient by capturing your ideas, notes to self, tasks, and more without using your keypad.

I’ve found Jott to be extremely helpful in a couple different situations:

  • It’s much easier to Jott someone a response instead of texting when you’re in the middle of driving / riding / running around.
  • You are out and about and need to remind yourself of something for later.
  • It’s great to track expenses with Xpenser using Jott!
  • You can use it to blog a post!!
  • You can use it with Twitter, Jaiku, Blogs, Zillow, Yahoo Groups, 30 Boxes, Remember the milk, Tumblr, and the list goes on and on! Look here!

If you are like me, it takes me way too long to text someone a response or have conversations using texting on a cell phone, Jott makes it easy, and that I can appreciate!

Did I already mention that it’s FREE?
Check out Jott for your everyday use!

MSDOS 5 - Microsoft

Posted by Pete on November 11th, 2007

Let’s talk about the nerd era.. better yet, let’s watch it.

From YouTube:

Found this in the back room of my old job. It was titled “YO MS Raps!” MS-DOS 5.0 was the first version available in a retail package. Looks like MS spent a few $$$ to produce the effects in this video to promote it.

Just an entertaining link.

And wait about 10 secs.. (or until something happens). You won’t be disappointed!

It was brought to my attention by Chris Pirillo, thanks!

You don’t see talent like this everyday I tell you! It’s an amazing act that I’ve never seen anyone do before.
Can you make music with your hands like Gerry Phillips can? I doubt it.

Gerry was also on Jimmy Kimmel Live performing this same song.

List of IM Programs

Posted by Pete on August 8th, 2007

I remember a time that IM (Instant messaging) programs were scarce. That’s right, it was hard to find a decent program for communication. The top dogs were ICQ, AIM, and MSN Messenger and they all sucked back then compared to the features available today.

Communication

I use Skype and Google Talk on a daily basis. For me, this covers every base I need, but then there’s times that people need to communicate with me and they only use a particular medium. In those cases I only use Aim or MSN Messenger.

Anyway, here’s a huge list of Instant Messenging programs that list all kinds, from desktop to web-based to network im programs.

Semi Truck hits man in wheelchair and takes him for a ride!

Posted by Pete on June 9th, 2007

This is just unbelievable! A man in a wheelchair starts to cross the street, in the meantime a semi-truck leaves a gas station and embeds this poor guy’s chair into his grill and pushes him down the road about 50 miles before police stop the truck driver from going any further. Nobody gets hurt! 50 MILES!!

Of course the truck driver didn’t know he had a guy stuck as his new hood ornament. Carpenter (the man in the wheelchair) was pushed in his seat the whole time and by some kind of miracle completely unharmed.

“I was happy. Thank God it was over,” Carpenter said. “I thought it was kind of like a fair ride. I don’t remember feeling any bumps though. I must have, but the road must have been pretty smooth.”

You have got to see the pictures and news video of man in wheelchair going for the ride of his life
