Theming your Ubuntu desktop

If you are an Ubuntu user like me, then you could appreciate the details posted at the Ubuntu forums. I’m definitely bookmarking this one for reference!

A lot of things, actually. In this HowTo I will cover:
– Widgets: this are the little elements like buttons, loading bars, menus…, which are used in your applications
– Window borders: the part of the window containing the buttons to close, maximize and minimize
– Icons
– Mouse cursors
– Panels
– Splash screen: this appears when you login before the desktop os ready
– Login manager: the application which greets you after the boot
– Desklets: little apps which show useful information over your desktop
– Fonts
– Grub: the application which lets you choose what operating system you want to boot
– Usplash: what appears when the system is loading at boot

Do you Twitter?

I have become a victim of the fad that has hit the net in the form of Twitter.

I find myself becoming strangely amused by this simple service. It’s almost like IM’ing, but not really.. kind of like a mini blog.. but not really. More like a status of what you are up to, so your friends or anyone can see what you’re up to.
There’s extra update options like using your favorite IM client to update your twitter, or using your phone. Also a whole list of other cool twitter related stuff at the Twitter Fan Wiki

If you haven’t yet, I invite you to check it out..

Qumana is a great tool for bloggers!

Qumana seems to be a fantastic tool for enabling you to write, edit or post entries into your blog. The one thing that got me interested is the ability to add images when editing. I’m currently posting with it and seems to be working great! So I’m off to play some more with it. 🙂

You can use Qumana even when you are offline. Save your blog posts to your hard drive and upload whenever you like. Great for bloggers on the move.

Go download Qumana, it’s free!

Revamped again

Needed to revamp the site a bit. It’s been awhile and I’m getting fed up with the lame, barely pays for a phone call, google ads on the site. So I scrapped them (for now anyway) and starting with a nice fresh clean template like this one.

Currently using Crave4more which is a compilation of several different styles into one. A really cool theme for WordPress.

I’ve been using this blog site as an outlet for my discoveries on the web, and that may change too as it’s been more non-personal than personal. Time will tell.

‘Crave4More’ is a wordpress theme, that has Nine different styles and many options you can control.
It is the first and so far the only one , where one theme allows you to have so many different looks.
